Bloody Valentine
February.. What a crock of shit month this is.. All of you guys get to buy into a bullshit Fake ass holiday, made up by corporate America, and geared around you spending money on your significant other in the name of love.. Well I’m an old curmudgeon, and I say I don’t need a woman bothering me on a daily basis.. Hookers are cheaper than wives, and they leave when your done.. Plus, you never have to buy a hooker a valentine day gift.. One of my exes was steroid juicing, selfish, self absorbed, greedy, control freak crazy woman, that was all about getting gifts on Valentine’s Day.. I’m so much happier being away from her.. I do miss the dog though!! That’s all I have to say about St. Valentines day, except in my opinion, Al Capone celebrated it correctly!!!
Rebuilding, Restoring, and Revving Up: Harley Sportster project bike
This month we are going to delve into the Harley Sportster project bike.. This month I’m going through all of the parts we have in the basket case and checking them for wear and tear..
So far we have a scuffed front piston and a bunch of shit rear sheet metal, no front sheet metal, no rear fender struts, and a little bend in the back of the frame where the fender struts bolt up.. The little Frame bend isn’t a problem, and will be easy to straighten out..
The Road Ahead: Wheels, Tires, and Living Fully
What I decided to do is convert this 883 into a 1200.. since I have to buy a set of pistons anyway. I bought a complete engine gasket kit, and a set of Keith Black 1200 conversion pistons from V-Twin Manufacturing.
The cams all look good, the cam bearings will get replaced.. the oil pump is in absolutely great shape and all of the gears in the transmission shift and engage.. so I’m going to trust that the trans is in good condition.. I’ll have to wait
and see on that..
The cylinders don’t look too bad but even if they did I’m cutting out 498 thousandths so that’s like a half inch.. the cylinders could have been beat with a hammer and I’d be able to save them. The heads are going to get a fresh valve job, and Ill check them out real close when I start on them.
Ride it Like You Only Live Once and Speed Safely
The ideas here is to get the engine rebuilt, installed into the frame, and running.. The rest will fall into place.. In the meantime I’ll figure out what I’m going to do about wheels and get some tires ordered up!!
Ride it Like You Only Live Once and Speed Safely!!!!!
